Project Management Day of Service™ (PMDoS™)

March 28,  2016

NEW
Project Management for Change Coaching Program Announcement!

Project Management for Change, the nonprofit organization that is responsible for PMDoS, is ready to start accepting applications for volunteer PM coaches and indications of interest from nonprofits.

What is the PM4Change Coaching program?
This is a volunteer run coaching program to support the PMDoS nonprofits by answering project management questions and providing support and resources to the nonprofits as they work on their projects.

Why are we doing this?
So, the nonprofit got their project scoped and a work plan created, but now what? We had two great PMDoS events in the DC area, but we want to have a greater impact than even our awesome single day event can create!.

We want to make sure your efforts are leading to the best project outcomes and that our nonprofits don’t get stuck when trying to complete those projects. We are calling PM volunteers to help us support the nonprofits in finishing their projects by providing ongoing coaching and support to them through our private Facebook group (with opportunities to participate in other coaching services over the coming months).

How much time do I have to commit?
As little or as much as you can! We are running a private group for the PMDoS nonprofits and will look for volunteers to help us answer project management questions so the nonprofits can keep moving on getting their work done.

Sign up here to volunteer as a coach.

Are you a nonprofit that could use some additional project management guidance? Click here to sign up. There is no cost for this program. We will answer your project management questions, point you to free resources, and help you keep your project(s) moving!

Additional information will be made available to those that sign up for the program.

Thank You to Our PMDoS 2016 Sponsors: Falcon Lab, Capitol Assets and the Project Management Institute Educational Foundation!

As we continue with our story of thanks to the circle of sponsors who joined us in hosting this all-volunteer, pro bono world-changing event, we would like to take the opportunity in this issue to thank three very unique sponsors who each provided very different but very critical support.

In this issue, Project Management for Change would like to acknowledge Falcon Printing, Capitol Assets and the Project Management Institute Education Foundation.

The Falcon Lab

has been a stalwart supporter, with us from the start and provider of the beautifully designed and printed materials such as the program, brochure, sponsor passport and various signage and table materials.  Contact FALCON If you’re ready to partner with a talented team of d esigners, printers, and fabricators who love nothing more than to knock projects straight out of the ballpark – they can’t wait to work with you.

Capitol Asset, another Founding Sponsor, donated the use of over 100 laptops for our PMO volunteers during the event, which were critical for such things as Registration, the HR Team working with the scoping Teams, our LIVE Social Media Station and all the other activities necessary to keep event operations flowing smoothly. Capitol Asset is a leader in GREEN IT recovery and recycling solutions.  Contact them today!

Project Management Institute Education Foundation

A third Founding Sponsor, PMIEF, was again a generous financial supporter and raffle prize donator. PMIEF – with partner Hewlett Packard Enterprise as sponsor of the PMI Chapter Category – is administering the Community Advancement Through Project Management Award to recognize pro bono service contributed by project managers to nonprofits throughout the globe. Applications for the Community Advancement Through Project Management Award are open now, and close May 20, 2016. Learn more about PMIEF here.
